R. Kelly’s attorneys are still trying to spring him from jail, and are now claiming that the inmate who attacked R. Kelly was allowed to by the MCC staff.
“It appears that MCC personnel simply followed Mr. Farmer, allowed him to carry out the attack, and then only intervened after Mr. Kelly had already sustained serious injuries,” Kelly’s attorney Michael Leonard wrote in the filing, requesting that the star be released from jail.
Last week, another of Kelly’s attorney’s, Douglas C. Anton, told Billboard his Kelly was “not doing well” and that he “has injuries.”
“It is cruel and unusual,” said Anton. “He is innocent until proven guilty. I have an innocent guy in jail that can’t get out of jail so we can get prepared for trial.”
Kelly has been trying to get out of jail since his incarceration last month, but the courts are worried about him being a flight risk and even witness tampering.
