Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine hopped on Instagram to beg his fans to purchase his new single “TROLLZ” featuring Nicki Minaj — four times, to stop the single from tanking.
The single is yet to break into the top 10, despite breaking the Youtube record for the most streams in 24 hours ever for a hip hop video.
“To all my fans, this is very important. If you can, go purchase ‘Trollz’ on iTunes up to four times. You can purchase, legally, up to four times. If you can. There’s also merch at the 6ix9ine store. But most importantly, you have CDs, vinyl, cassettes etc. You can buy up to four times. That’s the legal amount, up to four times. Again, we are winning by far, but, there is always some bullsh*t with these people. So, run it up.”
Tekashi is desperate to hit the top spot, and after recruiting Nicki, he mos likely assumed that he would be guaranteed the top spot, but as it stands, it is very unlikely that he will reach number one.
This proves that while people may be happy to be entertained by a troll, spending their hard-earned cash to support one is another thing altogether.
