As we all know, trends come and go in cycles. While classic items like cardigans, ballet flats, and crisp button-downs never go out of style, they are back in a big way for 2023. Cardigans, specifically, have been on my mind lately. Even though I already have quite a few in my closet, I’m certainly not opposed to adding a few more! I was recently browsing Zara and was impressed with how many chic styles they have for fall. Whether you are a Brooklyn mom, a Gen Z LA girly, or a classic Chicago lady, there is a Zara cardigan style for everyone!
I first came across Zara when I was living in San Francisco and I’ve been a fan ever since (remember when they didn’t even have a shoppable website?!). I love shopping their fun, trendy, and classic pieces at such an excellent price point. Sometimes it can take a bit of searching, but they have so many great styles! How to Style a Zara Cardigan

An Easy Everyday Fall Outfit
First up, creating an easy everyday look. For this type of outfit, I love pairing a classic, feminine cardigan with a sleek button-down, straight-leg denim, and a classic ballet flat. See what I did there? I hit so many of the trends for the season in one simple outfit!
Zara Cardigan and Dress Outfit
You can also transition a summer dress to fall by pairing it with a Zara cardigan. For example, you could layer this maxi dress over a turtleneck, add a thicker cardigan over the shoulders, and pair it with western-style boots.
Fall Mini Skirt Outfit
Another great trend for fall is the mini. I recently bought this mini skirt and wore it to create a chic black and white outfit. However, I have also been pairing it with my favorite eight-dollar tank, this oversized Zara cardigan, and Mary Jane flats.

Zara Cardigan Fall Favorites
Admittedly, Zara’s website is full of cardigans that are sure to catch any autumn-loving girl’s eye. But, I know it can sometimes be overwhelming when there are too many choices. So I’ve narrowed it down to just a few of my Zara cardigan favorites for fall!
The Basic Zara Cardigan You Need
Let’s first start with this basic cardigan that is an absolute must-have! This classic style works with denim, over a dress, and paired back to a mod mini. It can be dressed up with a sleek slip dress, statement earrings, and chic mules. Or you can dress this Zara cardigan down with denim shorts, an easy tank, and Chanel flats. I am equally enthralled with this knit cardigan. The pearl buttons add a classy touch and it comes in the sweetest hues.
The Bigger the Better
An oversized cardigan is the perfect fall outfit completer. This pocket cardigan and this knit one are two Zara cardigan favorites of mine at the moment. I love their deep V’s, relaxed bodies, and drop shoulders. These oversized styles feel casual without feeling messy. Plus, they match back to so many items in my closet. I’m already plotting to wear this black cardigan over this knit dress in the near future!
Show Your Stripes
Stripes are my forever favorite. And when it comes to fall dressing, they land in the more the merrier category for me! Zara has two options for striped cardigans that I am currently loving. First up, this classic shrunken-style cardigan. Lady jackets are all the rage this year and this striped sweater is giving off those vibes at an excellent price point. Plus, the gold buttons on this Zara cardigan really elevate the look! I also love this more streamlined, sleek style. The pearl buttons and wrist slits are so pretty and really make it stand out.
