Prosecutors will not be offering disgraced star R. Kelly a plea deal in the numerous child pornography charges against him ahead of his October 2020 trial.
According to BOSSIP, federal prosecutors and Kelly’s defense team filed a status report about Kelly’s case June 17, revealing that the case is on track to head to trial in October and is expected to last three weeks. No plea negotiations — or “change of plea” are currently being considered and Kelly denies all of the charges against him.
Kelly has been charged for multiple alleged crimes, including charges in New York for five more acts of racketeering and four more counts of violating the Mann Act. Prosecutors claim he allegedly coerced and transported women and girls across state lines to engage in illegal sexual activity.
While Kelly beat similar charges many years back, it is highly unlikely that he will be able to walk away scott free again. He faces charges in Chicago, New York and Minnesota.
