Megan Thee Stallion has secured another win in her legal battle with current label, 1501 Certified Entertainment.
According to Billboard, a judge denied a request by 1501 Entertainment and its CEO Carl Crawford to compel the “Savage” rapper’s case to arbitration. The judge also reportedly denied 1501 Ent. CEO Carl Crawford’s request to stay that case.
Meg’s lawyer spoke to the publication, saying “We are obviously very happy with the court’s decision and look forward to litigating this case.”
Meg is trying to free herself from the label after she tried to renegotiate her contract and they tried to prevent her from releasing new music.
“So when I got with Roc Nation, I got management — real management — and real lawyers. They were like, ‘Do you know that this is in your contract?’ And I was like, ‘Oh, damn, that’s crazy — no, I didn’t know,'” she said. “… Soon as I said, ‘I want to renegotiate my contract,’ everything went left. It all went bad. It all went left. So now [1501] tellin’ a b*tch she can’t drop no music. It’s really just, like, a greedy game,” she said last month.
