Floyd Mayweather’s 19-year-old daughter Iyanna Mayweather is facing up to 99 years in prison if convicted of stabbing her fiancé NBA Youngboy’s baby’s mama, Lapattra Jacobs.
According to The Blast, “It should be noted, it doesn’t appear that Yaya has any criminal record, and she has not yet been convicted of any crime. So, it could be much less. Plus, she has a really good lawyer.”
And the boxing superstar is doing any and everything to make sure that Iyanna doesn’t go down for nearly a century. Floyd has reportedly hired J. Prince’s lawyer Kurt Schaffer to represent Iyanna against the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
Iyanna was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the incident. If she’s convicted, Mayweather faces up to 99 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
So who is this lawyer? Well, Schaffer represented J. Prince after the Rap-A-Lot CEO was accused of ordering Ronnie Bookman to be jumped in 2007 at a gym Prince owned.
And he won. The case was later dropped after prosecutors found that Bookman broke the law and committed perjury in a deposition in a separate $10 million civil suit against Prince.
Kent has also successfully worked on cases involving Farrah Fawcett; Tom Sizemore; Armie Hammer; Stayve Thomas (Slim Thug); Brad Jordan (Scarface); Chad Butler (Pimp C), his website says.
Mayweather is preparing to plead not guilty, Schaffer told Bossip.com, and she is due back in court in August of 2020.
