Deontay Wilder is itching to get back into the ring with Tyson Fury after his humiliating defeat last week — and he says the only reason that he lost because his costume weighed 40 lbs.
“He didn’t hurt me at all, but the simple fact is my uniform was way too heavy for me,” Wilder told Yahoo Sports. “I didn’t have no legs from the beginning of the fight.
According to Lance Pugmire of The Athletic, Wilder said he will exercise his rematch clause against Fury.
Wilder was upset that his team threw the towel in.
“I’d rather die in the ring than have the towel thrown in,” he said, per Pugmire. “I’m a warrior.”
Whether or not he will get his rematch remains to be seen, but following the fight, most folks were talking about the fact that Fury licked blood off his neck — and Wilder did nothing to stop him.
