When worlds collide! Could Alex Rodriguez be working on a new project with HGTV stars Chip and Joanna Gaines?
“Extra’s” Renee Bargh caught up with A-Rod at the Upfronts in NYC, where he was supporting the World Series on FOX.
Chip and Joanna, of “Fixer Upper” fame, are in the process of launching a multiplatform media company. They already helped Alex and fiancée Jennifer Lopez with their Malibu home, and Chip recently shared pics of the couples in Waco, Texas.
Now, there are rumors that they might be collaborating. Alex teased, “That is a little surprise, but we are big fans of Chip and Joanna. They’re amazing, and we’re working on some fun things.”
He also dished on date night fun with J.Lo at the Met Gala, “We had fun, we had fun. It was a fun event. The outfits were awesome. This was the best Met Gala I have attended, by the way. Cher was so damn good.”
The athlete went on a water diet to fit into the pink tux he wore to the big night. “Yeah, but I don’t think it’s ever a good idea to fit in a 42 when you’re a 46… I’d rather have some carbs… I squeezed it in pretty good.”

He thought Jennifer looked amazing, and gave her major props for her latest project “Hustlers,” saying, “She’s a workhorse. She’s been getting after it. She’s been disciplined and ‘Hustlers’ because it’s such an iconic time in New York and such an iconic place, it’s going to be a big hit.”
