Lightweight layering season is finally here. It is – by far – my favorite time of year in fashion. Keeping cozy while staying stylish – yes please! When layering for fall I love to play with contrast. Think cropped sweaters paired with long coats. Cashmere knits stacked with heavier options. Different scales of patterns (hello quilted styles!). Short skirts with high socks. The list goes on and on.
I loved styling this jacket, this vest and this cozy button up coat – and big bonus points – they are all under $100! I love a long quilted vest for layering – and also for styling! In addition to Black, this vest is available in Brown and a beautiful Green. I love mixing more utilitarian styles like this with whimsical prints and feminine dresses to create a fun juxtaposition.
Uniqlo is famous for their cashmere sweaters. Ringing in under $100, these closet staples should be at the top of anyone’s layering list. Available in SO. MANY. COLORS! There are endless ways to style this and one of thes pop colors such as the green or cobalt blue would look stunning with a neutral suit. If you want to go the color blocking route I would pair a pop color back to a chic midi skirt and colored tights.
