Unless you’ve been living under a rock you would have seen my multiple DISSH * raves on Instagram and TikTok. I am a woman OBSESSED. I first discovered them through a TikTok comment, made an order and BAM now I need my wardrobe to consist of the entirety of the website. I feel like I lucked out with my first order in that everything I ordered fitted like a glove, made me feel fab and felt unique in my wardrobe. It was like I’d found another 17897 outfit formulas in one order. So here’s a bit of a DISSH all in one – my top pieces, my buying tips and what my wish-list looks like…

MY TOP PIECES

DISSH Donna Black Sleeved Midi Dress* – A slinky, short-sleeve black dress that flares out slightly and sits as more of a full-length dress for me, it’s absolutely perfect. I feel like I’ll get a lot of wear over this over the coming months. Heavy enough to skim the body, but not too heavy that you’ll be sweating in it all summer long.

DISSH Ada Stone Long Sleeve Black Top* – This is probably my most-worn DISSH purchase so far. It just adds a bit of something something to my standard jeans and a top outfit formula. I love the flared sleeve and SOMEBODY STOP ME when the black version comes back in stock in my size.

DISSH Ada Stone Long Sleeve Midi Dress* – Yes, yes I bought the dress version of the top too. With a tie back it nips in slightly at the waist and the flared skirt is just soooo beautiful. Honestly I just feel fab when I wear it. Thanks to the long sleeve I’ve been getting wear out of it already by pairing it with a knee-high boot.

MY BUYING TIPS

SIZING ADVICE – I wear a medium across the board in their dresses and stretch tops and find that to fit perfectly (for reference I’m a U.K. size 10-12). It gets a little trickier when it comes to numerical sizing. I’m between a U.S. size 6-8, so from the pieces I’ve purchased I tend to size up to the 8 (I’d always recommend checking the size guide on their website too). That seems to fit well for the tops and for the trousers they come up slightly oversized, but it’s always easier to remove fabric if needed. For reference I’m 5’7″ and I’d say the trousers come up a little long on me.

FABRICS TO LOOK FOR – From my experience of the things I’ve ordered and been sent, the pieces that have really stood out are the ones made from that heavy ribbed fabric. The quality is just so good, they feel like DISSH’s signature pieces and they are something that I haven’t been able to easily dupe on the high-street. Second to that are their linen sets. ARKET* do a good job of catering for this category  in the U.K, but the sleeveless tops and waistcoats are a little trickier to dupe.

FABRIC CARE – I’m pretty sure most pieces I have say ‘hand wash only‘ on the tag, but have fared well on the ‘cold hand wash‘ setting on my washing machine. Because the fabric is so heavy I find it best to hang them to dry as flat as I can and make sure that I keep everything folded in storage as not to stretch anything.

THE DUTIES – Ok let’s be real for a minute – and this pains me a little to admit because the cost is excruciatingly high – but it’s helpful to disclose the duties amount just so you don’t end up blindsided. Reminder that this is the DHL import duties/tax payments for the U.K. My first order came to a total of $319.98 and the charge was £122.02 and my second order came to a total of $575.95 and the charge was £194.41. Ouch. The day DISSH gets a European warehouse is a dangerous day for us all – ha.

SECONDHAND FINDS – Once I realised I’d fallen in love, the first thing I did was check out the secondhand market. The best place I’ve found is eBay*, followed by Vestiaire Collective* and then Vinted (I actually scored a fab top for like 25% of the original price there recently). Because the returns process internationally is at the cost of the customer, it means the preloved market is actually pretty good and well worth checking out.
