MY TRAVEL STYLE MUST-HAVES FOR 2023

I feel like travel is really ramping back up in 2023! I eased back into it last year, but I feel like my travel calendar is already overflowing this year. I am heading to California this week and it had me thinking about some of the tried and true pieces I love to travel with and the accessories that I can’t be without. From oversized scarves to the perfect travel bag, today I am highlighting a few of my on-the-go faves.

A FAVORITE TRAVEL BAG

This bag remains one of my favorite travel companions. It is lightweight, holds a TON, has a specific sleeve to go over your carry on luggage, is easy to clean, and has so many interior pockets. Seriously, they just about thought of everything. Years ago I bought one in navy and it continues to be the bag I grab for again and again for upcoming trips.

AN OVERSIZED SCARF

I am always cold while traveling – even in the summer! An oversized cashmere scarf that doubles as a blanket is a total lifesaver on any flight. Believe it or not, I still travel with the oversized scarf from my Nordstrom collection (see how I styled it here and here), but I also love this one and this one!

A PAIR OF COMFY SHOES

Overdressing is my MO, but when it comes to travel, I tend to tone it down just a bit. It all starts with comfy shoes, a must for me when traveling. I typically either wear these loafers that you know I love, these sneakers, or a pair of Chanel ballet flats. I am always switching it up but lately those have been my shoes of choice when on the road!

A GREAT, GO WITH EVERYTHING BLAZER

I try not to bring a huge coat with me on flights because it can become such a hassle (you know, unless it is truly freezing cold at my destination). Instead, I opt for a more substantial blazer or third piece that is warm enough without being bulky. I am still wearing this blazer quite a bit (that I picked up during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale) but have also been loving this blazer, this blazer, and this quilted jacket!

THE ACCESSORY ADD ONS

Not *really* fashion related, but I do have a few accessories I can’t travel without. With so many bags being lost, I use AirTags for a peace of mind. They easily and accurately track my bags so I know exactly where they are if they happen to be left behind by a carrier. Another Apple product I swear by: the newest version of their lightening cable. It charges your phone up to 50% in just 30 minutes! My phone is always dying and I am not the organized enough to lug around an external battery, so this super charger has been a game changer. Also, I never used to use luggage tags until someone walked off with my bag (accidentally!) in an airport in Paris. Now, I always make sure I have these on each of my bags including my carry on in case it has to be checked at the gate for some reason.
