Nick Cannon Welcomes His 12th Child

Nick Cannon and Alyssa Scott are celebrating the birth of their baby girl. Scott announced the news on Dec. 29 with an emotional Instagram video documenting her birth. The clip, soundtracked by “Angels We Have Heard on High,” features clips of remembrances for Scott and Cannon’s son Zen, who died in December 2021 of brain cancer. The video notably includes shots of the parents with their newborn in the hospital room, and ends with the baby’s name, Halo Marie Cannon, and her date of birth, Dec. 14.

Among the intimate footage is Scott showing her tattoo of Zen’s name along her spine. There are also shots of Scott while pregnant and footage from the baby’s delivery, with Cannon holding the newly born baby and announcing she’s a girl. A stunned Scott says, “What?! What?!” before taking the baby into her arms and holding her against her chest.

“December 14 2022. Our lives are forever changed,” Scott wrote in the caption. “Zen is in every breath I take. I know his spirit was with us in the room that morning. I know he is watching down on us. He shows me signs everyday. I will hold onto this memory forever.”

She continued, “I will remember the sound of Nicks voice saying “it’s a girl” and the look of everything we’ve been through flash across his face. I will remember the sound of her crying out with her first breath and feeling her heartbeat against mine. My sweet girl, I got my surprise!! We love you Halo Marie Cannon!” Scott is also mom to her daughter Zeela, age 4. Scott first shared the news of her pregnancy back in October.

Halo is Cannon’s twelfth child, and the fifth one born this year. Earlier in December, Cannon paid tribute to Zen on the anniversary of his death on Instagram, writing in part, “I can’t believe it’s been a year already since the toughest day of my life occurred. Such a painful anniversary. Losing a child has to be the heaviest, most dark and depressive experiences that I will never get over.” He reflected that he feels “guilt, pain, and sorrow” daily, and added to Zen, “We Love you Eternally.”
