After rumors surfaced this week that Bachelor Matt James and his ex, Rachael Kirkconnell, had rekindled their romance, a source has shut down the rumors quickly.
“Matt and Rachael are not back together,” a source told Page Six. “They are working on building a friendship outside of the show and away from the noise. The past few months have been extremely difficult for Matt.”

The source added, “He is not ready to throw himself into a relationship right now.”
Matt dumped Rachael after confronting her about old photos from 2018 that resurfaced of her attending an antebellum party.
According to E! News, another source adds that everything Matt said during After the Final Rose still stands, and that “Rachael and Matt are completely just friends. He has no intentions of dating her in the future.”
Speaking during the After the Rose ceremony, Matt revealed he tried to explain to Rachael why her past actions were so hurtful.
“If you don’t understand that something like that is problematic in 2018, there’s a lot of me that you won’t understand. It’s as simple as that.”
