Yesterday news broke that rap star DMX suffered a massive heart attack, after an apparent drug overdose. MTO News spoke exclusively with a member of DMX’s family, who tells us that the rapper is in extremely serious condition, and it doesn’t look like he’ll pull through.
The family member told MTO News that DMX’ children and other family members are all expected to gather by the rapper’s bedside, and that any medical decisions on the rapper will be “made as a family”.
Those decisions may include “pulling the plug” on the rapper, MTO News has learned – if his condition deteriorates.
The family member, who asked to remain anonymous, told MTO News that they were pessimistic about DMX’ ability to pull through.
DMX’s exact condition is not known.

Initially, TMZ reported that DMX was “on life support” and in a “vegetative state.” Then early last night DMX’s attorney Murray Richman told Pix11 news that the rapper was doing better, specifically that he’d “been taken off life support system and is breathing on his own.”
At the time, fans of the rapper began to feel a bit optimistic.
But late last night, the news turned bad again. Later in the evening, Murray Richman backtracked and told Rolling Stone that he was “given wrong information” and said that the rapper remains on life support.
DMX lawyer could not confirm if the heart attack was drug-related.
