Auli’i Cravalho Shares Ways to Dream Big at Girl Talk Event

Auli’i Cravalho is only 20 years old, and in that time, she’s accomplished some amazing things. From starring as the voice actress in Disney’s hit movie Moana to playing Ariel in ABC’s The Little Mermaid Live! to landing a role in Netflix’s All Together Now, Auli’i has not let anything stop her from making her dreams come true. The actress joined us for POPSUGAR’s Girl Talk: Knowledge Is Our Superpower event, featuring Michelle Obama and the Girls Opportunity Alliance, to talk about her three ways to dream big. The event premiered Thursday and is a collection of inspiring conversations with celebrity guests in support of girls’ education across the world. We suggest you whip out your pen and paper, because real talk: Auli’i’s tips for dreaming big are really freakin’ good!

  1. Practice being confident. It’s hard to achieve a goal if you don’t believe in yourself. Auli’i mentioned she “would practice being confident even when I had some serious moments of self-doubt.” She added, “the greatest adventure I’ve ever been on is learning to own my own power.”
  2. Practice feeling deserving every day. To know that you’re deserving of every opportunity that comes your way will change your life. Auli’i noted, “I really had to learn that I’m not just lucky; I deserve to be here, I deserve these great opportunities, I deserve to be confident in myself and my abilities.”
  3. Find your voice and power. Life is a never-ending game of trial and error, and everyone is learning. Your voice has power, and as Auli’i said, “not being afraid of my own voice and learning to use it has allowed me to tap into my own power and really create my own authentic voice.”

We hope you’ll join POPSUGAR in donating to the Girls Opportunity Alliance Fund so we can help girls everywhere dream bigger and make those dreams a reality.
