The second half of the Clive Davis Pre-Grammy Gala has been postponed after it was announced that he is recovering from Bell’s palsy.
The ceremony was to be held virtually.
Davis’ rep, Sean Cassidy, confirmed the news to The Hollywood Reporter.
Bell’s palsy causes temporary weakness or paralysis in the face muscles and forces one side to wilt or become stiff. Recovery usually begins 2 weeks to 6 months from the onset of the symptoms.

“He’s being treated with antibiotics and is expected to make a full recovery in six to eight weeks at which point, he plans to host the second installment of his virtual pre-Grammy gala,” Cassidy told THR. “Clive is obviously disappointed to delay the evening as it’s shaping up to be as big as the first. However, he feels great otherwise and is looking forward to the May event.”
It’s not usually permanent and most people recovery fully — but in some rare cases, it can remain indefinately.
