Comfy But Cute Outfit Ideas for a Date Night In

V-Day might be looking a little different this year but that doesn’t mean you’ve to skip the best part – getting dressed and feeling like your best self.

|

It’s that time of the year. Cupid’s sharpening his arrows, ready to take his shots. We’re about a week away from Valentine’s Day. Whether you’re spending the day with your man, hanging with the girlies, or cuddling up in bed with a good book in hand (you go, gurl), we’d opt for a cosy night in. You know the restaurants are bound to be fully booked, anyway. And if there was one thing we don’t miss about the world before Miss Rona’s rampage, it’s being elbow to elbow with strangers.

Our ideal Valentine’s Day in the time of Miss Rona we imagine would look something like this: a quiet evening in, cooking dinner, sipping on a glass of wine on hand, a movie after if we’re in the mood for it, and calling it a day. Think a scene from a romantic chick flick. Fuss-free, easy, the same way we think all relationships should be. Make no mistake, we’re still dressing up for it. It’s still date night, ladies night, or an evening to soak in self-love – whichever.

But none of that basic bodycon business, thank you. It’s comfort at the top of our minds with a dash of sexy. We need room to move around freely and in the later half of the night, hide the food belly in photos. If you just can’t make up your mind on what to wear on V-Day, consider these. Some of which, you might already have in your closet.

#1: THE OVERSIZED SHIRT

Is it a shirt? Is it a dress? It’s a shirt dress. Not quite one or the other but it works. And if you don’t already have one, look into your man’s wardrobe. We’re sure you’d have plenty of options there. And you could get away with PJs underneath, no one has to know.

#2: YOU’D NEVER SLIP UP IN A SLIP DRESS

Throw it on and look like you put in a whole lot more effort into getting ready than you actually did. Verging on lingerie material, you could even fall asleep in it after.

#3: CUTE SLUMBER PARTY APPROVED PJS

If you’re spending the night with your girl pals, coordinated pyjama sets are still relevant no matter how old you get. The Bachelor running on tele, your bottle of wine on standby, and chatting till the sun comes up? Yep, pyjamas sound like just the outfit for the ocassion.
