Sean Connery’s Wife Reveals Where the Family Will Spread His Ashes

Actor Sean Connery’s family, honoring his final wish, will scatter his ashes in two of his favorite locations.

The 90-year-old James Bond actor died on October 31 at his home in the Bahamas.

Now, according to People, his widow Micheline Roquebrune tells The Scottish Mail on Sunday, “We are going to bring Sean back to Scotland — that was his final wish… He wanted his ashes to be scattered in the Bahamas and also in his homeland.”

Micheline, who was married to the star for 45 years, explained that they will go “whenever it is possible and safe to travel again. Then it is the family’s intention to return to Scotland with him.”

“We would like to organize a memorial service for him in Scotland — that is our hope,” she said. “But we cannot say when this will happen exactly.”

Previously, Connery’s son Jason told the BBC that his dad had died in his sleep in the Bahamas, but that many of those closest to him were able to be by his side. He also confirmed his father had been in poor health, noting, “We are all working at understanding this huge event as it only happened so recently, even though my dad has been unwell for some time. A sad day for all who knew and loved my dad and a sad loss for all people around the world who enjoyed the wonderful gift he had as an actor.”

In an earlier statement, the actor’s publicist, Nancy Seltzer, confirmed there would be a small service, and that a larger memorial would be planned post-pandemic.
