A new report claims Prince William, 38, had a pretty bad case of COVID-19 back in April.
The Sun says William kept the news private because he didn’t want to alarm the public. His father Prince Charles, 71, had already been diagnosed, along with Prime Minister Boris Johnson, 56, who ended up in intensive care.
William reportedly self-isolated at Anmer Hall, where he was treated by a royal doctor. A source revealed, “William was hit pretty hard by the virus — it really knocked him for six… At one stage he was struggling to breathe, so obviously everyone around him was pretty panicked.”
The insider continued, “After seeing medics and testing positive — which was obviously quite a shock given how fit and healthy he is — William was determined it should be business as usual, though. He was determined to fulfil his engagements.”
Despite the diagnosis, he participated in 14 engagements via phone and video in April, including the opening of Birmingham’s Nightingale Hospital and a virtual Comedy Relief sketch.
People reports his wife Kate Middleton and children Prince George, 7, Princess Charlotte, 5, and Prince Louis, 2, did not contract the coronavirus.
