Naya Rivera’s Autopsy Findings Released

There are new details surrounding the death of “Glee” star Naya Rivera.

The actress drowned July 8 while boating on Lake Piru in Ventura County, California, with her 4-year-old son Josey. He was discovered alone on the boat, prompting a search for Naya. Her body was found days later, on July 13.

Now, The Blast has obtained autopsy findings from the Ventura County Medical Examiner.

The site notes that Naya had recently suffered from a sinus infection and had a history of vertigo but was in otherwise good health. As far as her mental health was concerned, “There was no known history of suicidal ideation or attempt.”

The findings indicated, “She was known to consume alcoholic beverages, smoke about a pack of cigarettes per week, and used marijuana by vaping, but she was not known to use any illicit substance.” Small amounts of amphetamine, diazepam, and caffeine were reportedly found in her system.

The docs also note that “She was considered to be a good swimmer.”

As was previously reported, the autopsy states “the cause of death is drowning, and the manner of death is accident.”
