Chadwick Boseman, who died of colon cancer August 28 at 43, was remembered at a private memorial in Malibu Saturday, one attended by his family, some of his closest friends, and his co-stars.
Boseman’s widow, Taylor Simone Ledward, who he secretly married shortly before his death, was spotted at the ocean-side event in photos published by The Sun.
Other mourners included Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o and Winston Duke.
Masks and hand sanitizer were used all around.
Ever since Boseman’s death, there have been numerous public displays of respect for the fallen movie star and icon, including a Thursday outdoor screening of “Black Panther” in his hometown of Anderson, South Carolina, that included a speech by Deanna Brown-Thomas, daughter of the late James Brown, about how Boseman exuded Black excellence.
