Over the weekend, Larry King opened up about losing his son Andy, 65, and daughter Chaia, 51, less than a month apart.

The veteran newsman wrote on Facebook, “It is with sadness and a father’s broken heart that I confirm the recent loss of two of my children, Andy King, and Chaia King. Both of them were good and kind souls and they will be greatly missed.”

He shared, “Andy passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack on July 28th, and Chaia passed on August 20th, only a short time after having been diagnosed with lung cancer.”

The 86-year-old went on, “Losing them feels so out of order. No parent should have to bury a child.”

After thanking fans for an “outpouring of kind sentiments and well wishes,” he asked for some “time and privacy to heal.”

Andy and Chaia were his children from his marriage to Alene Akins. Andy was Alene’s son from a previous relationship, and King adopted him after their 1961 wedding. The couple later had Chaia.

Larry is also father Larry King Jr., 58, with ex-wife Annette Kaye, and Chance, 21, and Cannon, 20, with ex-wife Shawn Southwick.
