A woman has filed a lawsuit claiming that actor Cuba Gooding Jr raped her in a hotel room in 2013.
His accuse is identified in the lawsuit only as “Jane Doe,” and says she met him in a Manhattan bar in August 2013. He then invited her to drink with him at a nearby hotel.
He then asked her up to his hotel room, where he said he needed to change his clothes. It was then that she claimed that he raped her. Jane Doe is requesting a jury trial as well as compensatory and punitive damages.
Gooding denies the allegations.
His attorney Mark Jay Heller said via Reuters, “The allegations are false. It’s an event that took place seven years ago. No complaint was ever lodged. We believe the allegations and the complaint will be dismissed.”
Gooding is already tied up in legal proceedings after being accused of groping a woman in 2018. He also denies those charges.
