Kacey Musgraves and husband Ruston Kelly have split after two years of marriage. On Friday, the country music stars, both 31, announced that they filed for divorce by sharing a joint statement with the Associated Press. “We’ve made this painful decision together — a healthy decision that comes after a very long period of trying the best we can,” the statement read. “It simply just didn’t work. Though we are parting ways in marriage, we will remain true friends for the rest of our lives. We hold no blame, anger, or contempt for each other and we ask for privacy and positive wishes for us both as we learn how to navigate through this.”
Kacey and Ruston first started dating in early 2016 and got engaged on Christmas Eve at Kacey’s childhood home later that year. In October 2017, they tied the knot in a woodsy wedding in Tennessee and have shared a handful of public appearances since then.
