Tekashi 6ix9ine and Nicki Minaj’s single, “TROLLZ” may have reached the No.1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 last week, but according to Forbes, the record also broke the record for the biggest fall from the charts in its history ever for a debut single.
In its second week, “TROLLZ” plummeted from #1 to #34 on the Billboard Charts.
According to Forbes, securing the top spot was partially down to the rapper’s sales being “bolstered by a slew of music/merchandise bundles and a discounted iTunes download price of 69 cents. This emphasis on physical/digital bundles has become increasingly common for artists looking to inflate the first-week numbers of a new single, but it often results in a precipitous week-two drop.”
And what a drop it was. Tekashi was extremely cocky when he landed the top spot, but most artists remain in the top 10 even if they are knocked off the top spot in their second week.
