Scalp Scrubs Need to Be a Part of Your Hair Care Routine STAT

The scalp, like your face and body, benefit wholly from exfoliation. You know what they say, healthy hair starts at the scalp.

The scalp might easily be most overlooked part of our skin. It might not be as visible as the skin on your body and face but the health of your scalp deserves just as much tender loving care. Most of us have a rigorous skincare routine. Cleansing, exfoliating, moisturising, masking – the whole nine yards. But when it comes to scalp care, we stop at the bare minimum – shampooing.

There’s more to scalp care than just that. Exfoliation is an important part of creating a healthy environment for your tresses to thrive in. Getting in there with a scrub just as you do on your face can really do wonders from unclogging product and oil buildup to stimulating blood circulation. It’s no secret that healthy hair really begins at the root.

Now that it’s summer, you’d know the perils of the sun relentlessly beating down on your scalp. It gets sweaty, greasy and essentially transforms into a playground for bacteria. Limp, lifeless hair is not a good look for anybody. If you have scalp on the other end of the spectrum, scalp scrubs are just as useful in getting rid of the dry, flaky skin that builds up over time. For starters, introduce the scrub to your hair care routine once a week or once every fortnight. A word of caution: go easy on the pressure if you suffer from a sensitive scalp. And when in doubt, ask yourself how you would approach the skin on your face. The same applies to the scalp.

If you’re guilty of neglecting your scalp care, as most of us are, kickstart the journey with these scrubs.
