President Trump is once again taking aim at China — in a shocking new tweet seemingly blaming them for the spread of COVID-19.
“As I watch the Pandemic spread its ugly face all across the world, including the tremendous damage it has done to the USA, I become more and more angry at China. People can see it, and I can feel it!” he tweeted.
Trump’s words in the past about the Asian country has led to an increase of violence against Asian-Americans.
The U.S. has reported more than 2.6 million cases of coronavirus since the pandemic began, causing at least 127,286 deaths, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. It reportedly started in Wuhan, China.
Several members of his administration have repeatedly referred to the virus as the “Wuhan flu” and as the “Chinese” flu — and Trump critics have accused him of gaslighting and trying to incite violence against the Asian community.
