Rapper Fabolous had an amazing Versus battle yesterday on social media, against fellow NY rapper Jadakiss. But it ended with fab being called out, by 1990s R&B singer Tamia.
The music was great, and folks generally loved the concept behind it.
But at one point during the battle, Fabolous explained why he chose Ashanti to sing the hook on the rappers hit song “So Into You,” although the song had originally come from Tamia.
Fabolous told fans that the reason they used Ashanti was because Tamia – their first choice – had throat surgery.
He then went on to say that Tamia recovered from her surgery in time to shoot the video and did the vocals. So there are two versions of “So Into You,” Tamia’s and Ashanti’s.
Well Tamia immediately jumped on to Instagram, to call Fab out on his alleged lies.
According to Tamia, she NEVER had any throat surgery. And she went further, suggesting that she’s had a much more accomplished career that Ashanti – with man 8 album and 25 year long career.
