President Donald Trump caught heat over the weekend after he retweeted a video of Trumpers yelling “white power” at Black Lives Matter protestors.
The confrontation took place between white residents of a Florida retirement community. A protestor yells “Where’s your white hood?” and in response, a man in the golf cart pumps his fist in the air and says “White power!” twice.
“Thank you to the great people of The Villages,” Trump tweeted. “The Radical Left Do Nothing Democrats will Fall in the Fall. Corrupt Joe is shot. See you soon!!!”
He soon deleted the tweet. The White House released a statement claiming that Trump did not hear the words “white power,” despite the man yelling them twice in the clip.
In a statement, Judd Deere, the White House deputy press secretary, said: “President Trump is a big fan of The Villages. He did not hear the one statement made on the video. What he did see was tremendous enthusiasm from his many supporters.”
He did not offer an apology. Even fellow Democrats have condemned the retweeting of the racist video.
