Amanda Kloots Visits Nick Cordero in the Hospital and Shares Touching Photo

Amanda Kloots has been reunited with her husband Nick Cordero, who has been hospitalized for months.

After a series of posts on Instagram Stories letting fans know she was headed to visit him in the ICU, she shared a touching photo of their clasped hands.

In the caption, she included the words to Andy Grammer’s song “Don’t Give Up on Me,” including the lyrics, “I will fight / I will fight for you / I always do until my heart / Is black and blue.”

Nick was admitted to the hospital in late March after contracting COVID-19. He’s had many setbacks since, including a medically induced coma, a leg amputation, and lung infections. Recently, doctors were concerned about his blood pressure, but Amanda let fans know on Friday that it had come down.

Earlier in the week, Kloots took live questions on Instagram about his health.

She revealed that Cordero has lost “65 lbs.,” due to muscle atrophy.

When someone asked if Nick could move, she said, “Unfortunately not. He’s so weak that he can’t move. His muscles are definitely atrophying.”

Since he can’t move, doctors have him on “high-protein food” to help stop the weight loss.

Amanda also pointed out that he can’t speak either, just answering “yes” or “no” questions with his eyes. She said, “Nick is there. There’s not much going on, but he’s there. His eyes are open and he’s looking up and down and answering questions. He’s there.”

Amanda noted that Cordero’s blood pressure “is all over the place.” She added, “Some days are good, some days aren’t. We’re basically just trying to see if we can get him stable and strong enough to have more options. That’s where we’re at right now. It’s monotonous, and it is hard on a daily basis — very, very hard for me and, I’m sure, even more so for Nick.”

While Amanda is trying to maintain a positive attitude, she admitted, “Every day that goes by, I just feel like my heart is just breaking more and more and more because I think about him laying there, and I just am devastated. I see our little boy — just the cutest little thing — growing up and doing all these firsts, and Nick missing them.”

Amanda and Nick are parents to 1-year-old Elvis.
