Rising-star Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Mumbai home early Sunday. Variety reports the cause of the 34-year-old’s death was likely suicide.
Rajput had been acting since 2008, when he appeared on “Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil,” a popular Indian TV series.
He parlayed that success into a role on “Pavitra Rishta,” which brought him not only popularity but the Indian equivalent of the Emmy.
He launched his film career in 2013 with “Kai Po Che!” — another smash. His other film appearances include “M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story” (2016), “Kedarnath” (2018), and “Chhichhore” (2019). His film “Dil Bechara” is ready for release once concerns about the coronavirus pandemic ease.
Rajput’s manager, Disha Salian, had died by suicide just last week.
