“50 states are protesting at the same time, this man changed the world,” he said. “I just want to thank George Floyd for the sacrifice so my kids can be alright. I appreciate the sacrifice, I really do.”
Chauvin is now being charged with second-degree murder, is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Monday afternoon and is being held on $1 million bail at the state prison in Oak Park Heights.
Floyd was killed by a police officer who kneeled on his next for almost 9 minutes, and although the singer’s attempt was not to cause any offense to Floyd or his family — Twitter let him have it.
