Yesterday three New York City police officers were ambush attacked in Brooklyn by a man who is being described as a protester. The man, who is currently in critical condition is being labeled a “hero” by many on social media.
Two police officers were shot and another another officer was stabbed during an ambush in Brooklyn late Wednesday night, the NYPD told MTO News.

Police Commissioner Dermot Shea told media that two officers were working an anti-looting post at the corner of Church and Flatbush avenues around 11:45 p.m. when a man armed with a knife walked up casually and stabbed one of the cops in the side of the neck.
A struggle ensued and police claim that the “protester”managed to grab a gun from one of the officers, and shot two other cops.
According to authorities, the two officers who were shot were NYPD officers in the area heard the shots and rushed to the scene. More shots were fired, police said.
When all was said and done, two cops had suffered gunshot wounds to the hand and the suspect was shot multiple times, Shea said.
All three officers were rushed to a nearby hospital and are all expected to survive.
The suspect is currently in the hospital critical condition. While many are upset with his actions – others are calling the “protester” a “hero” and a “freedom fighter”.
