Keke Palmer trended online on Black Out Tuesday, after a video of her pleading with the National Guard to walk alongside protestors went viral.
“You have to understand what’s going on,” she is seen telling the soldiers in the video. “We have a president who’s trying to incite a race war.”
“We need you,” she said at the march which took place in Hollywood. “So march with us. March beside us. You get your people. March beside us. March beside us. Let the revolution be televised.”
One of the soldiers tried to shake Keke’s hand, but she asked him to march. He did not agree to march.
“Can you do me a favor? Can you take a kneel?” He then responded, “Absolutely,” to which Palmer said, “I don’t know — that ain’t enough for me.”
Several other Guardsmen also took a knee.
Keke is one of the few celebrities in Hollywood who have shown up to support the protestors.
