Pan Afrikan educator and activist Dr. Umar Johnson trended online on Sunday after he hopped on to his Instagram Live and addressed his followers about the recent protesting nationwide.
For once, Twitter welcomed Umar’s words, as he called out white people for not taking their protests to their own neighborhoods instead of the hoods, and told his fans that they should consider looting as part of reparations for the Black community.
” If you really care about Black oppression, you don’t come to the ghetto and march. You don’t come to the ghetto and march! If you really care about Black oppression, you will go amongst your own community — your own institutions — your own system, and you will struggle against your own people. Why would you leave? Why would you leave the seat of power?’ he asked.
Twitter praised Umar for his words.
