CNN anchor Don Lemon has called out Hollywood for remaining silent as the rest of the country speaks out and protests the death of Geoge Floyd and police brutality against African Americans.
“What about Hollywood? Strangely quiet,” Lemon says. “I see them on Twitter — ‘Oh I’m loving what Don is doing, I’m loving what this person is doing.’ They gotta do more than that; especially Black celebrities and Black leaders, and white celebrities and rich Hollywood and rich folks and wealthy people.”
Lemon is tired of them hitting him on social media and wants them to be more proctive.
He continued, “Why aren’t they helping these young people? These young people are out there standing on a platform at the edge of an abyss by themselves. And what they’re doing — yes, I’m calling you out. You can be mad at me all you want. You’re sitting there watching TV and your b*tching about it, and you’re saying ‘Oh my gosh I can’t believe I’m watching this. What is going on?’ Stop texting me and asking me, ‘Oh my gosh, Don, what is happening to our country?’ Stop tweeting me and telling me ‘I’m loving what you’re doing.'”
