Nessa, the loyal girlfriend of former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, has clapped back at the NFL — denying their claims that he is retired.
“The @NFL @nflcommish @NFLPA lying on their NFL website claiming @Kaepernick7′ retired.’ Colin did NOT retire. You cowards blackballed him bc he peacefully protested against police brutality. He’s a Superbowl QB & should be playing bc his stats show that,” she wrote alongside a screenshot of an NFL webpage which clearly says that Kaep is retired from the league.
Kaepernick was blackballed from the NFL after he protested police brutality and social injustice by kneeling during the pregame national anthem in 2016. He later sued the league, and they settled with him for an undisclosed amount.
In November 2019, Kaepernick worked out for seven NFL teams in Georgia but was not picked up by any of the teams for the season.
He announced earlier this year that he would soon be releasing a memoir.
