‘Bachelorette’s Rachel Lindsay Addresses Hannah Brown’s Apology For Using The N-Word

Rachel Lindsay, the first-ever Black Bachelorette, has responded to an apology issued by fellow Bachelorette star Hannah Brown for using the n-word.

Fans slammed Hannah after she used the word while dancing to a DaBaby track on Tik Tok.

“I hate that I have to do this. I never wanted to speak on this. I never wanted to say anything. I’m honestly tired of feeling like I have to be the one to speak because other people won’t,” Rachel said.

Rachel was not here for Hannah’s written apology on her Instagram.

“It’s easy to make a statement, it’s easy to hide behind words, but when you’re bold enough to say the N-word on camera, on your platform … then you need to be bold enough to use your face on camera and apologize in the same way that you said the word,” Rachel continued. “I’m not discrediting the apology. I’m just saying we can’t give people a pass for this. You have to hold people accountable for what they’re doing.”

She added, “Non-Black people should not feel OK saying that word, I repeat, non-Black people should not feel OK saying that word n*gger, you wouldn’t say it on TV, you wouldn’t say it on the radio, you wouldn’t say it in front of your Black friend. If the reason you wouldn’t say it because you feel uncomfortable should be the reason, you don’t say it in private or around your friends. Maybe you shouldn’t sing-along.”
