Ana Desousa, 33, who was pregnant, and her boyfriend, Alafia Rodriguez, 46, were gunned down in cold blood yesterday in Staten Island, New York. And according to social media reports from alleged friends of the couple, the gunman allegedly used racist epithets before killing the Black couple.
Police say that the suspect, Philip Moreno, 45, allegedly stormed into the home in Arlington at about 5 p.m. and gunned down both victims in the living room, according to law enforcement sources.
Phillip is Latino, but reportedly identifies as “White.”
The shooting occurred just after 5 p.m. inside a home in an upscale Staten Island neighborhood. Ana and Alafia were one of the only Black couples in the neighborhood. When first responders arrived at the scene, three victims were found with gunshots wounds, according to police.
Alafia and Ana Desousa, who were expecting a child together, were both pronounced dead at the scene. Another victim, a 45-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital after being shot in the torso, the NYPD said.
She is reportedly serious but stable condition.
