Former LA Lakers guard Shannon Brown has been arrested after he reportedly fired his rifle at a couple who he says were trespassing on his property — even though the house was up for sale.
There was a “For Sale” sign outside the Tyrone, Georgia property.
“A Tyrone man was charged May 2 with aggravated assault after allegedly firing a rifle in the direction of two people who said they entered his home that was listed for sale, with the gate and front door open,” per The Citizen . “Shannon Brown, 34, was charged with one count of aggravated assault, according to Fayette County Jail records.”
“The couple told police the gate to the property was open, as was the front door, (Police spokesman Philip) Nelson said, adding that the couple maintained they announced their presence as they entered the home, and that someone inside the home said, ‘Come in.'” the report added.
When they began to enter the home, Brown appeared with his rifle and fired fix or six shots in an attempt to scare them off.
He says he thought they were breaking in to the property.
Brown currently plays for Ice Cube’s BIG3.
