Model Gigi Hadid just went on the record to confirm that she is expecting a baby with One Direction’s Zayn Malik.
The 25-year-old appeared on “The Tonight Show” and told Jimmy Fallon, “Obviously, we wish we could have announced it on our own terms. We’re very excited and happy and grateful for everyone’s well wishes and support.”
Jimmy urged her to try to stay present, and she replied, “Especially during this time, it’s a nice silver lining to be home and be together, and really experience it day-by-day.”
She also revealed she’s been craving everything bagels and eating one every day.
For her 25th birthday celebration this week, she said her family surprised her with an everything bagel cake… with a twist.
It turns out it wasn’t a giant bagel — it was actually a marble cake with chocolate chip butter cream inside from Buddy the Cake Boss!
The special gift had her in tears. “I love him,” she said of Buddy.
TMZ reports Gigi is about 20 weeks along and expecting a girl. Her mom, Yolanda Hadid, seemed to be the first family member to confirm the pregnancy.
The Dutch talk show “RTL Boulevard” posted an excerpt from their recent interview with Yolanda, who gushed over becoming a grandmother and revealed when Gigi is due.
In a quote translated to English, Yolanda said, “Still shocked our little secret got leaked to the press. Of course we are so excited. I am excited to become Oma in September, especially after I lost my mom so recently. But this is the beauty of life; one soul leaves us and a new one comes in. We feel very blessed.”
