A man named Tupac Shaker was issued an apology from the Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear after he called out the “bad apples” who filed for unemployment under fake names during the coronavirus pandemic.
“We had somebody apply for unemployment for Tupac Shakur here in Kentucky. And that person may have thought they were being funny, they probably did. Except for the fact that because of them, we had to go through so many other claims,” he said during a news conference on Monday night.
Unfortunately for Beshear, there is actually a resident who shares the names as the later rapper, and he was shocked by the mayor’s public display.
“I’m hurt, I’m really embarrassed and I’m shocked,” Shakur told the Herald Ledger. “He needs to apologize. That’s just my name.”
Beshear held another news conference on Tuesday night, where he issued a public apology to Shakur. He vowed to resolve Shakur’s unemployment claim.
