More Than 200 New Cases Of COVID-19 In Georgia As State Reopens

Georgia has been hit with more than 200 new cases of COVID-19 as it reopened business across the state at the order of Governor Brian Kemp.

State health officials recorded 265 new cases and nine deaths in the last 24 hours. As of noon Sunday, there were 23,401 confirmed cases in the state and 912 deaths, AJC wrote on Sunday morning. That number is expected to be even higher.

Five more Georgians have reportedly died due to COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus.
