Actor Terry Crews’ wife had both of her breast removed, MTO News has learned. The reality star wife elected to have a double mastectomy after she received a stage 1 cancer diagnosis last year.
Rebecca Crews, 54, told all the harrowing details in an interview that can be found in the new issue of People Magazine.
According to Rebecca, she found out about the cancer just a few months ago and immediately elected to have a double mastectomy even though doctors only found one small mass in her right breast. She made the choice, because her mother was also recently diagnosed with breast cancer.
Rebecca also talked about Terry Crews’ struggle with her illness telling People:
“My husband has watched me go through a lot, but the look on his face … he looked at me like I was going to die. He told me it felt like his insides were melting. I said, ‘I need you to be strong for me,’ and he said, ‘Okay’ and hugged me, but I think he needed that hug.”
“I have to give him his props because he’s been cooking for me, helping me bathe, and just really stepping up. I tease him all the time, I’m like, Did I have to get cancer to be treated like this?!’ ”
