Rapper Kodak Black has been sentenced to an additional 12 months in prison for his attempt to cross the Canada border with a weapon.
However, Kodak’s new sentence will run concurrently with the 46-month sentence he is currently serving for illegally purchasing a firearm in his home state.
His attorney posted the news via his Instagram.
“Some good news and some frustration in regards to @kodakblack . The case in New York is resolved. I was not his attorney on that case,” he wrote.
“Although it should have been completely dismissed, as it was for the other 2 individuals in the same car, who testified that @kodakblack knew nothing about the firearm in the vehicle, and it was registered and legal to one of the other individuals he was with, they agreed to 12 month to run concurrent with his current sentence. Even the Judge asked the prosecutor why are they not dismissing.”
He says that Kodak wanted to resolve the case, and is demanding that Kodak be credited the time he has been out of federal custody due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
