Where Do Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Live? 2020

Even though they announced their decision to step down as senior royals back in early January 2020, fans still aren’t quite clear on what Prince Harry and Meghan Markle plan to do next — or even where they will be living. In the official statement published on their Sussex Royal website, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said that they planned to balance their time between the UK and North America. In the almost three months following, the couple has seemingly spent the majority of their time in Canada, but their latest move has royal enthusiasts even more curious about what their future holds.

After stepping back, Harry, Meghan, and baby Archie originally settled on Vancouver Island, a quiet, idyllic spot off Canada’s Pacific Coast. According to a source for People, the couple spent much of their time hiking in the woods and relaxing indoors. “They are enjoying living a quiet life,” the source said. “They go for long walks, they do yoga, and Meghan cooks. They
are real homebodies who love to chill out with Archie and the dogs.” TMZ even photographed Harry visiting a local grocery store to pick up sandwiches in mid-February, so it seems they’d fully embraced the simple life.

However, another source for People suggested that the couple was eyeing Los Angeles. “They love being in Canada, but they are looking at houses in LA too,” the source claimed. “They’ll likely have houses in both places.” According to multiple outlets, the family of three recently relocated to Meghan’s hometown of LA, where her mother, Doria Ragland, lives, as well as many of Meghan’s friends. The move followed the announcement that the US-Canadian border would be closed to nonessential travel due to the coronavirus pandemic, so it’s unclear whether they’ll be in LA for good. A source for People claimed they’re living in a “secluded compound” and “haven’t ventured out.”

According to the funding section of the Sussex Royal website, the Duke and Duchess will continue to have use of Frogmore Cottage as their official residence whenever they return to the UK (with Queen Elizabeth’s permission, of course). The couple last visited the Commonwealth in early March to fulfill their last engagements as working royals, and in the midst of the coronavirus outbreak, it’s unlikely they’ll be able to visit again anytime soon. No matter where the three of them settle down, here’s hoping they’re living their best lives together.
