MTO news has confirmed that actress Jurnee Smollett-Bell filed to divorce her husband last week, after 10 years of marriage.
According to reports, Jurnee filed for divorce from her husband Josiah Bell and cited irreconcilable differences. The couple share one child together, 3-year-old son Hunter.
But the breakup of Jurnee’s marriage seems to coincide with Jurnee’s brother Jussie allegedly making up a bizarre story of being assaulted.
A year ago Jussie claimed that he was attacked by a group of racists, and beaten in Chicago. police did not believe the actor, and charged him with filing a false claim.
But his sister Jurnee stood behind him, and defended her brother against all who thought he deserved jail time. She took a lot of heat from defending her brother – and it may have cost her her marriage
At the time that Jurnee was defending Jussie, she traveled the country with Jussie – and was away from her family. At the same time, she began falling out with her husband.
They both stopped posting pictures of each other on social media, and word around Hollywood is that their marriage was in trouble.
Now – after a year of strife – Jurnee is filling to end their marriage.
