Oprah Winfrey hopped onto Twitter to deny rumors floating around that she had been raided by the feds and arrested.
A report went viral that claimed that Winfrey had been arrested at her home in Boca Raton, Florida, on sex trafficking charges, and she trended online on Tuesday.
“Just got a phone call that my name is trending. And being trolled for some awful FAKE thing. It’s NOT TRUE. Haven’t been raided, or arrested. Just sanitizing and self distancing with the rest of the world. Stay safe everybody,” she tweeted.
Newsweek reported that the fabricated report was accompanied by a video of a reporter claiming authorities searched her home for underground tunnels.
The rumor was reportedly started by far-right group, QAnon, and involved Madonna, Kevin Spacey, Charles Barkley, Celine Dion and Tom Hanks.
But as the billionaire mogul confirms, she is in self-quarantine, hoping to remain coronavirus free, much like the rest of the nation.
