British Journalist Slammed For Calling Meghan Markle ‘5 Clicks Away From Trailer Trash!!’

A British journalist is catching heat after he referred to Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, as being “5 Clicks Away From Trailer Trash.”

“I think what has really, really upset the British public is that Meghan Markle, who many people consider as only, you know, five clicks up from trailer trash, has actually tried to disrespect the queen,” said Victoria Mather during a segment on MSNBC Live. “And the queen is the most respected person, most respected woman, in the world.”

Mather currently writes for Air Mail but was introduced on the segment as a “royals watcher” for Vanity Fair. A spokesperson for the publishing house, Conde Nast, the publication’s parent company, told BuzzFeed News.

On Monday, Meghan and Prince Harry wrapped up their final duties as members of the family. This month, they will be stripped of their royal titles, opting for a more regular lifestyle for their son, Archie.
