An Atlanta stripper has pleaded guilty to fraudulently collecting disability payments while she danced at a DeKalb County strip club.
According to federal prosecutors her sentencing hearing is scheduled for May 26. 31, and allege that she worked nights stripping for money under the name “Chrissy the Doll.”
Valencia had been receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) from the Social Security Administration because she claimed that she was so disabled by anxiety and depression that she spent most of her time in her room and could not work.
SSI is a needs-based disability benefits program. Individuals who are over a certain income threshold or are not disabled cannot collect SSI.
Valencia pleaded guilty to Social Security fraud after it was determined she collected over $60,000 in disability benefits that she was not entitled to receive.
According to the federal indictment, Valencia applied for benefits in July 2010, claiming that she suffered from major depression and a panic disorder that prevented her from working or even leaving her home.
Valencia has reportedly been working as a stripper for the last 5 years – all the while collecting SSI.
Her sentencing hearing is scheduled for May 26.
